Imagine a prospect asks ChatGPT to shortlist the best tools in your category. Then, you show up in the answer, but it's quoting a price you changed six months ago.

There's no support line to call and no field to edit, so what can you actually do about it? What you can change is the source material it's built from, and for AI searches, 85% of those sources are third-party sites, not your own.

In this post:

  • What the research actually shows about AI accuracy
  • How to solve the AI inaccuracy problem
  • How FactCheck and Mention Refresh now close the loop together

What the research actually shows about AI accuracy

AI doesn't just relay what you say about yourself. It editorializes, and that's where the errors creep in.

When Profound analyzed 50,000 AI answers across seven industries, about 47% of the content in those responses was unsolicited: commentary, comparisons, and recommendations the user never asked for. Inside that extra layer, accuracy gets shaky.

This keeps happening because models build their picture of you from the whole web, not your latest press release. Live retrieval pulls whatever's indexed, stale pages included. And when sources disagree, the model picks a version.

Updating your own site doesn't undo what the model already absorbed everywhere else.

Solving the AI Accuracy Problem: spot it, fix it, verify it

Before, you’d have to figure out when the AI was saying something wrong, which source was the culprit for the misinformation and then work out how to get the publisher to correct it. That could be a job for an entire team of people.

But now, with Profound’s FactCheck and Noble’s Mention Refresh tools working together, we handle that entire process for you.

Here’s how:

1. Profound's FactCheck spots the problem. FactCheck reads the answers AI gives about your brand, scores how accurate they are, and traces every wrong claim back to the exact source producing it. You get an accuracy score and a precise list of the URLs feeding the errors, based on your “ground truth” - the document that’s cross referencing how you want to come across with how AI is actually presenting you.

2. Noble fixes it at the source. FactCheck sends those flagged sources straight to your Noble dashboard. From there, we get to work automatically. We reach out to the publisher, draft content based on your brand guidelines, and get the source corrected.

3. FactCheck confirms the change. Because FactCheck runs continuously instead of as a one-time audit, you can go back and watch whether your accuracy score climbs as the corrected sources get picked back up. You don’t have to hope the fix worked, you can see when it does.

And as your pricing, products or positioning changes, the loop starts back at Step 1: Profound finds the sources and sends them to Noble. You focus on how you want your brand to show up while we focus on making sure AI is relaying that information.

That's the loop: FactCheck finds it, Noble fixes it, FactCheck confirms it.

Being mentioned was the hard part. Being right shouldn't be harder.

You did the work to show up in AI answers; that was Step 1. Step 2 is making sure what shows up is accurate. That’s the gap FactCheck and Mention Refresh close together. Now, you get to manage not just whether you show up in AI answers, but how.
